Kitaenko's Prokofiev Cycle Available Again

When the recording of Prokofiev's complete symphonies with the Gürzenich Orchestra under Dimitri Kitaenko was published in 2008, many critics agreed that this cycle belongs to the best ever recorded. Kitaenko brought the Cologne Gürzenich Orchestra to an outstanding playing, witha 'truly Russian' sound and fascinating dynamics. In the Pizzicato magazine one could read: "No other conductor has given such a plastic beauty to Prokofiev's music nor is there anyone who has been digging so deep into those seven works."
The much sought after set which was not available for some years, is now republished by Capriccio.
