Dmitri Kitaenko to conduct the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra
After his successful concerts in 2011/12 and 2012/13, Dmitri Kitaenko returns early in November to the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra. On the 7th November he will conduct the orchestra at the Stuttgart Liederthalle and on the 9th November in the Mozart Hall in Mannheim. The all Russian program comprises Scheherazade, Rimsky-Korsakov's oriental suite from 1001 Nights, Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien as well as the Concerto for piano, trumpet and strings op. 35 by Dmitri Shostakovich, with Elena Bashkirova (piano) and Gabor Boldoczki (trumpet). With its deliberately humoristic and parodist elements this neoclassic style concerto belongs to the most sparkling works of this composer who once said: "If the audience smiles while listening to one of my works or laughs I am very glad."
