Cheering applause in Berlin
Dimitri Kitaenko's recent concerts with the 'Konzerthausorchester' in Berlin were extremely successful. The concert review in the daily newspaper 'Tagesspiegel' was very positive too. With the "rich color blendings" (Tagespiegel) in the 'Enchanted Lake' and the orgiastic dance of the witches in 'Baba-Yaga' Dmitrij Kitajenko showed two very different facets of Anatoly Liadov's music. On the program were also the ambiguous 6th Symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich, the Harp Concerto by Reinhold Glière with soloist Ronith Mues and Tchaikovsky's ' Capriccio Italien'. The public thanked the soloist, the orchestra and the conductor with cheering applause.
